Q1. Story behind your Brand name or Logo

 

Brand Name was not that much of a concept when it started, It was the name of the partner, who afterwards retired but the name continues as the firm was ready with same name’s goodwill.  Logo was designed as per the name.

 

Q2.  Whether this Business  is started by you or Legacy of Generations.

 

Business was established by my father in 1975. With the vision to supply premium quality, clean, staple products. His out-of-the-way thinking and innovative advertising patterns helped to create a brand and was the ‘talk of the town’. I inherited this legacy. After the entry of Modern Trade we got associated with all the leading brands like Walmart, Big bazar, Tesco, Reliance and Spencer with same pattern as these people need quality assured products with consistency.

 

Q3.  What inspired you to start this business/ entrepreneurship?

I joined this business with no choice. But I saw the passion of my father, Late Vitthaldas ji Chandak and network skills of my elder brother, Late Abhijeet Chandak. I got the command at the age of 18. With the support and help of my mother, I completed this task.

Aroonkumar’s is a reputed trading concern in Pune, offering wholesale supply and retail sales in a variety of commodity items with a speciality in Dry Fruits, Spices and Mukhwas. Driven by a quality-centric philosophy, and a glorious tradition of service excellence of more than 46 years - today it is a trusted name in the marketplace.

Aroonkumar’s is a multi-dimensional enterprise that caters to the needs of a varied clientele through a score of channels like Wholesale Supply, Convenience Store, Store-in-Store and Corporate Gifting. Q5. What kind of major challenges did you face while starting/doing business?

 

As we are in every field of the food industry.-- Manufacturing, Supply, Retail, Shop-in-Shop to Online services, so challenges are always there. But the main hurdle or challenge is to grasp the rapidly changing behavior of customers. The second challenge is to fight with the Big Giants with a lot of capital investments.

 

 

 

Q6.  What were the financial challenges you had   during the start of Business and how did you manage?

 

I got a ready set up. What I understand from this journey is that Business is a  ‘no-nonsense’ play. If you or your associate does a foul play, Business has to suffer. And to understand this foul play, you have to do business with ‘no-nonsense’ parameters.

 

Q7. Share with our readers the most inspiring moment in this journey of entrepreneurship or Business journey?

                                                                     

I just accepted my role in the business and started exploring new ways and Ideas, Because of the legacy, Tata Motors approached us for the supply of Premium products to their Exclusive Officers Guest Houses. But there was a procedure- Visit, Interview and all. After the interview session, when the head of  HR told me you are the youngest vendor of the TATA Group at the age of 18, I think, that was the time I realized how the Brand works and at the same time I took up the responsibility to keep this faith alive.

We are associated with Health related products. We trade in Dry Fruits, Spices and now we are in the manufacturing of Organic Honey, Turmeric Latte , Moringa Latte, Gulkand and many more such products are upcoming. People are now more conscious and alert about their eating habits. So this is a good sign for us, who are working towards this goal in the industry.

Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengluru

 

Q11 What are your future plans? Or now what is your vision for the next five years?

 

With the support of My Wife Dr Neelam, we intend to have our presence in the Global market. Upcoming five years will be very crucial for the retail segment as the World’s and India's Giant groups are now having full control in the market.
